Announced at BAM 10, Twitch Australia has partnered with Australias biggest fighting game event to sponsor Australian & New Zealands top fighters to battle it out at this years EVO World Championships.
Last week’s BAM 10 broke all previous records, becoming the biggest fighting game event ever in Australia. Held at the Melbourne Convention centre, over 2,000 attendees descended on the venue fighting over their share of and over $40,000 in cash and prizes, witnessing the debut partnership with Twitch.tv, trying to lift ANZ players and grow the fighting game esports scene.
The sponsorship will provide flights and accommodation for 3 players who reach the highest placement among Australian or New Zealand players at BAM, alongside the announcement were the details surrounding an ongoing tournament for next years sponsorship opportunity. Fighters are tracked with a points system which will lead up to next year’s BAM 11, in which players will once again have the opportunity to prove themselves and win a trip to EVO 2019.
