Blizzard has today announced that Shanghai will play host to the Battle.net world finals in November this year.
The event will be co-hosted by Blizzard and NetEase, and will see the culmination of tournaments from 30 different countries around the world for both World of Warcraft Arena and Starcraft II events.
Attendees will also be able to get their hands on some of the latest Blizzard games, buy exclusive merchandise and participate in several other attractions and activities over the course of the weekend.
William Ding, CEO of NetEase, said: “We’re excited to partner with Blizzard to co-host a world-class eSports event here in China. There are millions of eSports enthusiasts in China and we’re looking forward to presenting them with the opportunity to come together, have fun, and celebrate their passion for professional gaming.”
The Battle.net finals will take place on the weekend of 17th-18th November this year.
