After launching as an experimental after party at Pax Aus 2014, Melbourne’s beloved Beta Bar has announced it’s forthcoming closure.
Home to many of Melbourne’s geek community, the idea quickly became a reality, growing into a place for like-minded friends and family to come together.
In a recent announcement, the bar wrote, “Beta has undergone so many changes and we have always tried to adapt to the circumstances to give our community the best experience we possibly could. But, after so many moves and compromises on our vision, the night is sadly no longer serving people in the way we want it to.
This decision hasn’t come easy, as we’ve spent the last 2 years experimenting with new formats, themes, competitions, partnerships & games trying everything possible to get it where it needs to be to avoid exactly this but sadly, here we are.”
Beta Bar will stay open through May 24th, running a countdown of five events following Easter weekend.
“We’re working as hard as we can to make these final events a true tribute and send off to all that Beta is and was and we’d be honoured if you spent that time with us!
