The non-profit organisation provides consultancy, advocacy and resources for mental health and video game industries.
CheckPoint has been established by MCV Pacific Women In Games, Dr Jennifer Hazel and Jane Cocks, and will connect the fields of mental health and video game development. The organisation aims to increase the knowledge about both the risks and benefits of games in health care settings.
Co-founder, Jane Cocks told MCV Pacific, “We started CheckPoint so that we could unite the fields of healthcare and games together. We are passionate about promoting games and interactive media, and advocating for mental health and wellness across both healthcare and games industries.”
“Our work will involve formal research, creation of resources, community reachout and developing a professional network around these initiatives. We welcome any and all enquiries about our work, and would love for you to be part of our CheckPoint network”
