Industry veteran Chris Bowden has ended his 8-year relationship with Electronic Arts.
The four-time MCV Pacific 30 Under Thirty alumni has departed gaming to pursue a global marketing role outside the industry.
Beginning his EA career in 2010 working for the EA SPORTS FIFA development team as Managing Data Editor, Bowden later made the switch to marketing in 2013 when he accepted the position of APAC Community Manager.
His marketing career flourished with consistent promotions, first to APAC Brand Engagement Manager, seeing Bowden manage EA’s successful FIFA Ultimate Team business for the APAC region, and eventually Marketing & Communications Manager which saw him head up marketing and communications for the Middle East & Africa regions.
A pioneer of esports in Australia, one of Bowden’s crowning achievements was becoming one of the first public faces to represent competitive gaming to the masses. As a commentator on 2015’s Fox Fans League, Bowden was joined by Simon Hill and Andy Harper to call the nation’s first-ever live broadcasted FIFA tournament in a 90-minute special on Fox Sports.
“My time at Electronic Arts has been an action-packed journey full of life-changing experiences, and I can’t thank EA enough for the support they’ve shown my career throughout the years” said Bowden.
On behalf of the team at MCV Pacific we wish Chris all the very best.
