EB Games Assistant Manager turned established Producer Elise Marchouba is yet another talented and passionate member of the Develop Pacific 30 Under Thirty for 2019.
Starting her career in the games industry through gaming retail giant EB Games as Assistant Manager, whilst studying at SEA Institute (formerly Quantm), Elise was quick to seize one of the many opportunities that working with the retailer afforded her.
When staple industry studio, Big Ant, began visiting EB Games stores to perform in-store demonstrations, Elise capitalised on the opportunity, starting at the studio as Assistant Producer in the same year.
Elise went on to spend over three years working at Big Ant, taking on varying roles alongside her main commitment as Assistant Producer, spending time across publishing, Outsourcing, and QA. Marchouba was credited for the launch of several titles whilst working at Big Ant, games such as Big Bash Boom, AO Tennis, and Masquerade: The Baubles of Doom.
Launching her career in a big way at Big Ant, and with several successful Australian titles under her belt, Elise took the opportunity to grow into a full production position, working at Melbourne’s celebrated Samurai Punk studio. Since starting, Elise has worked with the Samurai Punk team to launch upcoming games such as Feather, Table of Tales, and a yet to be announced title.
Elise’s professional achievements are matched only by her personal endeavours, such as her work on the ever successful Starlight Week, which saw Elise integrate local indie artist’s work to help raise money for charity, and become a regular speaker at high schools discussing the importance of STEM and diversity within games.
Speaking with Develop Pacific, Elise said, “I’m so grateful to everyone who has taken a chance on me and helped me grow throughout my career, culminating in this achievement.
Shout out to Ross from Big Ant Studios for my formative years and a warm hug to my current team – this one’s for you, Spunky Monkeys!”
