In June of last year, Sega closed its territory offices in Europe and Australia to focus on a new digital strategy.
This meant the closure of its Sydney publishing arm, which was subsequently transmuted into a new distribution company by Darren MacBeth called Five Star Games.
It was sad news at the time, but the majority of the local Sega team managed to come through as part of the new company, and former PR Manager Rebecca Skoulos was tangentially brought back on board when Five Star hired Mink Marketing to represent it.
The question being asked by MCV UK this week of Sega’s European chief Jurgen Post is ‘Did the strategy work?’
