E3 2019: EA Play Wrap

EA began its annual E3 celebrations in style, announcing a host of new content coming in the form of big updates, and new title announcements.

Diving into the gameplay of the newly announced Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, fans were given their first look at the exploration, adventure, and combat mechanics.

Apex Legends, the viral sensation that saw industry pause in shock at its record-breaking popularity, and Battlefield V get new trailers announcing their upcoming content. While fans of the FIFA and Madden series games were given a glimpse of the upcoming game-modes and features on their way to the leading sports titles.

The publisher also announced three new publishing partnerships with three indie studios, Zoink Games, Glow made, and Hazelight Studios which will see EA publish their upcoming projects on PC and Console.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

In a presentation hosted by online personality Greg Miller, players were given a first-ever look at gameplay for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game delivers fun, thoughtful and rewarding gameplay with a great mix of exploration, adventure, and combat that lets fans live out the fantasy of becoming a Jedi. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launches worldwide on November 15. Apex Legends

Commentator Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez and the Apex Legends development team at Respawn introduced Season 2 of Apex Legends, which delivers major new content, including the new Legend Wattson, a revamped Battle Pass and more. Now the Legends have even more reasons to enter the arena. Watch Wattson’s video here.

Battlefield V

The latest Tides of War content from Battlefield V’s Chapter 4: Defying the Odds was on display in today’s livestream hosted by online personality Julia Hardy and EA’s Adam Freeman, featuring a variety of new maps starting with Marita that launches in July. This map puts an emphasis on close-quarters combat with light vehicles, and takes place on a gorgeous Greek mountainside with cobblestone roads overlooking a river. The DICE team also showcased more from Al Sundan, Operation Underground and more of what’s in Chapter 5 including the Pacific Theater. Watch the Marita trailer here.

Madden 20

Hosted by NFL Network’s Adam Rank, Madden NFL 20’s livestream gave players a glimpse into how they’ll feel like a superstar with new onfield features like Superstar X-Factors and Zone Abilities, as well as the new Face of the Franchise: QB1 Career Campaign, gameplay enhancements, Madden Ultimate Team Missions and more. FIFA 20 revealed an all-new mode, VOLTA, which means ‘the return’ in Portuguese, and is all about returning football back to its roots in an authentic, cultural and creative way. VOLTA Football lets players build their own character, express their style, and play various forms of free flowing-football in environments all over the world. Watch the Volta trailer here.

The Sims 4

Fans got a sneak peek this morning at the new Island Living Expansion Pack, which hits PC on June 21 and consoles on July 16. The landmark franchise also announced a new partnership with the It Gets Better nonprofit organization to help support LGBTQ+ youth in celebration of Pride month.
