EB Games has raised $744,519 during its 10th annual Starlight Week.
Held from April 30 to May 6 this year, Australia was covered in waves of yellow and purple once again, for EB Games’ annual Starlight Week. This year was EB Games’ 10th Anniversary with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and alongside Zing Pop Culture for the second year running, they aimed for their greatest year to date. EB set a record goal of $700,000, smashing it with a monstrous $744,519.35.
Starlight is dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families. In partnership with Australian health professionals, they develop unique programs based on positive psychology to help sick kids forget their illness and re-discover the joy of childhood. Starlight has an enormous presence within the Australian gaming community, with videogames offering a fun and effective distraction for sick kids.
This year’s faces of the EB Games and Zing Pop Culture Starlight campaign were Erin, Jess, Katerina, Phoebe, Joshua and Amelia.
Starlight Week 2017 received massive support and love from EB Games and Zing Pop Culture staff and volunteers, who worked tirelessly to envision and create new ways to fundraise and spread the positivity of Starlight.
They went above and beyond expectations, organising events and activities such as trivia nights, competitions, auctions, cosplay days and heaps more.
Jane Buckle, Loyalty and Digital Marketing Manager at EB Games said, “We celebrated 10 years with Starlight this year and are absolutely stoked to have achieved another record-breaking fundraising campaign.”
“Thank you to our amazing customers and staff who made this week possible, alongside Ubisoft, EA and our other vendor partners who also contributed so generously.”
Starlight Week is over for this year, but the Starlight Children’s Foundation is always fighting fear with fun for sick kids all over Australia. For more information on how you can help make sick kids smile again, head to the Starlight website.
