Far Cry 5 has become the second biggest Ubisoft title launch ever, with consumers spending USD$310 million through the first week.
Announced by Ubisoft, Far Cry has doubled it’s the first week sales of the franchises previous title Far Cry 4. “I’m proud that the culmination of years of passionate work from the team is paying off, and that Far Cry 5’s experience resonates with so many people,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer on Far Cry.
Just one-week post-release, Far Cry 5 has been streamed for more than 55,000 hours on Twitch.tv, and videos posted to YouTube have been viewed over 117 million times. Ubisoft claims these record-breaking figures are evidence of the “impact user-generated content is having in convincing players to join the Far Cry community.”
