The exciting announcement that a digital copy of FIFA 14 would come free with each pre-order of the Xbox One is slightly less so here.
It’s a purely European deal which doesn’t include ANZ, but it’ll be interesting to see if Microsoft do announce a similar tie-in for local consumers.
That said, you’d be hard pressed to find a title with broader appeal than a FIFA game (even harder pressed in Europe and the UK), so it’d have to be a title the vast majority of the Xbox One audience could enjoy.
Meanwhile, Microsoft also announced the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, which will allow peple to create teams with ‘a mix of legendary players’, a feature exclusive to Xbox.
EA is also currently boasting that the game will be the biggest ever in the franchise, although with the additional hype new consoles provide and the ever-increasing install base of current-gen consoles, one would certainly hope each iteration was getting larger.
