The massively multiplayer online game Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will launch on PS4 in April 2014, says Square Enix.
The publisher also revealed a PS4 beta phase will take place on Feburary 22 in North America and Japan. At this stage it is unknown whether Australia and New Zealand players will have access to the beta.
The PS4 version of the MMO was announced during this year’s E3. Square Enix later confirmed that PS3 players will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free, adding that characters and saved data can be transferred as well.
A Realm Reborn is a relaunch of the mess that was the original and since-scrapped Final Fantasy XIV Online. It officially launched in August on PC and PS3 after several beta runs.
