Already boasting some of the best tennis in the world, this year’s Australian Open will see Fortnite Pro’s from across the country descend on Margaret Court Arena for the Fortnite Summer Smash.
The Fortnite Summer Smash is touting one of the biggest prize pools in Australia with a record AUD$500,000 prize pool, with prizes for the top 100 players starting at AUD$1,000 and the solo first place winner nabbing a hefty AUD$100,000.
One of Australia’s top Fortnite content creators, Loserfruit, will compete in the Smash, and encourages Australian Open attendees to register for one of the 500 slots available, “Anyone who thinks they have a chance should enter. I know a lot of OC [Oceania] players who think they are the best and this is the time for them to prove that they are the best and they can make it.”
A charity Duos event will also be held, with unannounced guests battling to decide once and for all an Australian Fortnite champion, earning a well-earned prize for the charity of their choice.
Fortnite fans can register for the event at on-site qualifying events for on Saturday 26 January, with those who reach the final competing on Sunday 27 January.
