GX Australia has today announced Nintendo as Presenting Sponsor for its final event on April 29-30 at Sydney Showground.
Joshua Meadows, co-director of GX Australia said of the sponsorship, “Nintendo has come in at a crucial time to support GX Australia, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them on board.”
“Knowing that the company of our childhoods supports a truly diverse gaming community and industry is wonderful, and we can’t wait to see them at the event later this month!”
Co-director Liam Esler added, “Although this will be the last GX Australia, we’re so glad that we get to celebrate it with Nintendo at our side in such a big way.”
Nintendo will be hosting a booth at the event demonstrating the Nintendo Switch. Attendees can join in the fun and play some of the latest, and not yet released Nintendo Switch games, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, 1-2-Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and ARMS.
GX Australia 2017 is set to be a celebration of all things inclusive in games and geekery, with an expo hall of diverse creators, games, tabletop and merchandise, an impressive lineup of guests including Fallout creator Tim Cain, diversity expert Tanya DePass, Monument Valley designer Ken Wong, Axis of Awesome frontwoman Jordan Raskopoulos, indie legend Rami Ismail and more, as well as three tracks of panels and talks from experts and personalities of all stripes.
The Kickstarter for GX Australia’s Blowout Party, a final celebration of the event, is currently in its last 24 hours with less than $3,000. Tickets for the event can be also be purchased through the campaign at $60, as well as via Eventbrite.
