Sony has announced that Gearbox’s loot’n’shoot classic Borderlands 2 is coming to PSVR on December 14.
In the PlayStation blog, Gearbox producer Brian Burleson talks about how Gearbox didn’t just “cram Borderlands into a headset and call it a day”. As the new Borderlands 2 VR game is strictly single-player only, Gearbox had to reconfigure certain elements of character builds to make them work in their new iteration. For example, Maya’s “Res” ability (where she can instantly heal a hurt ally), which now is called “Empathy” – causing Phaselock to deplete half your current health, damaging enemies based on how much health you lost.
More information about what’s changed is available on the blog, but is only available for preorder through the US PlayStation store currently.
