HOYTS continue to expand their esports portfolio, announcing an exclusive deal with Swift Networks Group Limited, to provide esports content to HOYTS throughout ANZ.
Swift recently entered a content license and distribution agreement with US-based esports media company Real Big Hits, which gives Swift live broadcast rights to major esports events and content.
Alongside this, HOYTS recently established a dedicated esports division as a part of a $300 million capital investment, where it plans to stream weekly esports events across Australian and New Zealand cinemas.
The deal involves an initial three-year term, with both parties having the option to extend the agreement out for a further three years.
HOYTS ESPORTS General Manager Scott Russell said, “Securing this exclusive in-cinema deal with Swift will allow us to live stream some of the most popular esports content…
…across our network of Australian cinema outlets, and in doing so, support HOYTS’ drive to become the standout destination for esports fans to enjoy top class action on some of the largest screens on offer all year round.”
Swift Chief Executive Officer Xavier Kris is equally enthusiastic, “Signing this deal… …demonstrates the strong interest in the growing esports market. HOYTS is a clear leader in the cinema distribution industry, and through this partnership, we are excited to reach new audiences as we help HOYTS to execute their esports growth ambitions.”
