Announced today, gaming peripheral and hardware company HyperX have announced their new partnership with the NBA 2K League, naming HyperX the Official Gaming Headset.
“The convergence of esports and sports, as seen with the launch of the new NBA 2K League, is creating an exciting new form of entertainment,” said HyperX.
The NBA 2K League is the professional esports league co-founded by the NBA and Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. The league debuted this week with 17 teams and features 102 of the best NBA 2K platers globally.
“We want NBA 2K League players to have best-in-class equipment, and when it comes to headsets, HyperX is second to none,” said Brendan Donohue, NBA 2K League Managing Director.
During the season, HyperX headsets will be used by players and casters throughout the events, and also used across all live events. HyperX are providing Cloud Alpha headsets and Cloud II headsets for the players to wear during gameplay.
The NBA 2K League season runs over 17 weeks with teams such as Mavs Gaming, Pacers Gaming, and Grizz Gaming all competing for $1 million USD prize money across three tournaments and playoffs.
