The third annual Women In Games Lunch presented by Xbox was held at Sydney’s L’Aqua on Tuesday.
Over 110 guests made their way to Sydney’s L’Aqua on Tuesday, May 2, to celebrate the contributions of Women across the industry. The Lunch played host to the Women In Games Awards presented by Xbox, with seven Women recognised across as many categories, with Giselle Rosman inducted as MCV Pacific’s inaugural Shining Star, an award honouring an individual that has consistently gone above and beyond to improve the industry and the lives of the Women within it. The winners were all presented with a special Microsoft Women In Games Xbox One controller alongside newly redesigned bespoke WIG trophies.
As a part of the trophy presentations, Trailblazer winner, Emilia Chignola was presented with a scholarship to attend GDC 2018 by Xbox Australia. In addition to flights, accomodation and a daily per diem for meals, Emilia will gain access to a range of Women In Games and Microsoft activities throughout the week.
Guests were also treated to an especially created video presentation from Xbox Australia. The team at Xbox Australia asked some of the most prominent women in their global business to gather a collection of their thoughts around what being a woman in games means to them. . True champions for both Women In Games and diversity through their Gaming For Everyone program.
