What kind of content do you create?
I predominantly write news and reviews, conduct interviews and event coverage on my website as well as other notable gaming sites.
I also live stream games (mostly a variety, though currently focused on Battle Royale and new releases) and host play and learns (as an Xbox GameMaster) as well as produce webshows/talk shows.
I’ve dabbled in providing educational content for those wanting to get into streaming and the games industry, which I hope to do more of.
What drives your passion for gaming?
My passion for gaming stems from my love of pop culture and connecting with like-minded people. I love interacting with and learning from others. Gaming allows me to do both.
While some may disagree, gaming also has a lot of positive influence in today’s world. Watching young children learn and develop new skills; hearing about how gaming has helped those who suffer from mental illnesses/disabilities; seeing game development become a viable career path…all of this makes me all the more enthusiastic to be involved in gaming and the gaming industry.
Knowing that I can do some good and help make a positive impact in my community through my passions keeps me motivated and determined to continue doing what I do.
What do you love most about being a content creator?
I love that it allows me to be myself and be able to share my passions with like-minded people who are able to understand and appreciate my content.
I thoroughly enjoy being able to provide my viewpoints and opinions via written content and live streams and be able to engage in thought-provoking debates and discussions with people who may/may not have different opinions. It provides a bit of educational discourse, which I love.
Of course, I also love how it connects me with the rest of the world and allows me to build relationships with people I normally would not have met. There are so many incredibly talented people in the world and creating content allows me to not only meet these people but also learn from them and collaborate with some of them in order to provide positive, helpful, engaging and appealing content.
What are your plans for future content?
I am always looking to do more and improve. I am currently working on a new schedule to allow me to create content more often across both my site and the streams. I would love to do my work full time, however, after giving up my full time job and running Attack On Geek full time last year for six months proved tough financially so unless I’m able to get financial backing, and make a sustainable living out of my content creation, I will be continuing to work on it outside of my day job.j
My current goals are to do more to encourage more girls to get into the gaming industry and am organising community events and other activities to help the ANZ women in gaming thrive.
I am also looking at new ways to improve my content as well, particularly my live-streams so as to stand out and be able to provide better entertainment for viewers as well as more engaging educational content for the younger generation looking to get into the gaming industry.
Suffice to say, I have plenty of plans and a lot in the works 🙂
