What kind of content do you create?
I work for a production company called Marquee Studios as a host and producer making an array of content for a Cartoon Network owned digital IP called Planet 1UP. Content consists of reviews, challenges, parodies and educational pieces themed around gaming, trends and entertainment, using a variety of brands and influencers. This content is shared across social media platforms, YouTube, Twitch and TV.
What drives your passion for gaming?
I was introduced to gaming from a very young age and it has continued to be a vital aspect of my life to this day. Initially, gaming wasn’t really accepted and was seen as a waste. Over time however, it has become more of the norm which has allowed me to meet some amazing like-minded people and to do some truly awesome things. It is this that drives my passion. I want to do more, know more, meet more and continue to grow alongside this industry.
What do you love most about being a content creator?
One of the most amazing and difficult aspects of the role is the limitations that have been set by our demographic and corporate partners. These restrictions force you to find creative ways of solving problems around your proposed concepts and it is this, along with deadlines, that inspire creativity. The environment is one that I love and thrive off, and there has not been a single day where I haven’t laughed hysterically and hit a mental brick wall.
What are your plans for future content?
Though relatively new, Planet 1UP is definitely finding a format and content that works well for its targets. We’re currently aiming to increase our reach by making content around music, sports, events and celebrities, as well as some special ‘top secret’ content for TV.
