Screen Australia has a useful infographic on its web site which outlines the ways in which children consume screen media.
It doesn’t go into gaming too much beyond to note that 97% of children aged 2-7 have parental controls on their gaming habits for age-appropriateness reasons, while 88% of children ages 8-14 have parental controls, but are predominantly for time of day and play time limitations.
Perhaps more interestingly for marketers, the infographic breaks down the most popular channels (including Youtube) watched on TV. Of note is the stat showing that half of all children have watched TV shows online, while 71% have watched short online clips before.
