Following on from this morning’s news that AFA has shut its doors, we spoke to sub-distributor Brad Ellis about the future.
What does AFA closing down mean for sub-distributors such as Game On?
It was unfortunate to hear about AFA and we initially partnered with them to supply our stores due to the already good relationship we had with Robert [Allford] and the team and also their eagerness to support our customers. Since June, they’d been doing a great job, it was a shame this came to an end after such a short time.
Our customers have been unaffected by the supply disruption as we are dealing with an interim supplier until we finalise our current discussions for warehousing and fulfilment options.
So how does this affect Game On’s future?
Support for Game On is still strong and our customers have seen the benefits of the competition we bring to the sub-distribution market in price and services, but the mainstay is our strong communication and category advice/support.
We are speaking with a pure logistics company at the moment as well as two gaming distributors interested in expanding their network of customers and bolting on a new revenue stream to their established business. We look to have something in place shortly, and are happy to take any enquiries or interest in the mean time.
Thank you for your time!
