Founded in 2007 by Jeremy “Asterix” Klaosen, and James “sn@p!” Burroughs, Australian-based CyberGamer is dedicated to providing news, ladders, and forums around for PC, PS4 and Xbox esport leagues.
Let’s Play Live are enthusiastic about the acquisition, assuring the 387,000+ registered ANZ community members that the transition will be as smooth as possible with Jeremy Klaosen joining Let’s Play Live as Head of Platform. Klaosen says, “Over the last 11 years since founding CyberGamer I have lived and breathed esports. I am excited about the road ahead and the world-class production and opportunities LPL will bring to the community I love so much.”
The acquisition will allow Let’s Play Live to continue being the largest producer of televised and online esports content in Australia and New Zealand, while also incorporating better opportunities for grassroots players to participate in professional tournaments, alongside CyberGamer’s commitment to the future of community esports. Let’s Play Live Director Duane Mutu says “We are delighted that Jeremy has joined the team and look forward to expanding on the phenomenal job he and James and their team have done to date. CyberGamer has a rich legacy in ANZ esports and we have deep respect for their achievements and community focus.”
