The second of two videogame cocktail bars is set to close its doors next month.
It’s been open for two years now in Fitzroy, and opened a year after the first bar opened its doors in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
The bars have played host to many gaming events, both community and publisher run, but in the end it appears to have not been enough to sustain the venue seven days per week.
Kotaku was the first to pick up the news, with General Manager of the Melbourne bar Meg Betteridge saying: “We’re closing the Melbourne bar in September, for various reasons, which we’re not ready to talk about yet. There weren’t enough people coming into the bar, we ran out of options.”
The venue will be sorely missed.
