In total 42,790 ‘jammers’ across 804 jam sites, in 109 countries took part in the 2018 Global Game Jam over the weekend.
The Melbourne Jam site, with 309 participants, was the seventh largest site in the world, with Hong Kong and Paris just ahead. The largest single site this year was Egypt Game Jam in Cairo with a mammoth 863 registrants.
Oceania boasted 13 sites, with ten across Australia and three in New Zealand. Sydney was the next largest Australian site with 113 ‘jammers’ – the 68th largest site in the world.
