New Melbourne Queer Games Festival to run during International Games Week

The Melbourne Queer Games Festival (MQGF) was announced this week, set to take place in Melbourne International Games Week.

Official media partner of the festival, Stevivor, are reporting that the MQGF looks to showcase queer games made (or substantially updated) within the last 18 months, in a “relaxed, lofi, online event.” The event will include livestreams, and an awards programme with Gold and Silver categories, and a Jury Prize for a title which “best embodies the spirit of queerness.”

Luke Miller, Organiser of Melbourne Queer Games Festival told Stevivor, “We’re really hoping that every type of LGBTIQ developer, including people who do it as a hobby or perhaps those that aren’t confident in their game dev skills, will share their games with us.”

Developers are able to submit titles through the MQGF website, with the event being held October 22 – 23. You can read more about the event on Stevivor.
