Remakes of the Game Boy Advance Pokémons, Ruby and Sapphire, are coming to Nintendo’s handheld later this year.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will arrive in November for 3DS.
Nintendo has been annualising its Pokémon series in recent years. Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver released in 2010, Black & White arrived in 2011, Black & White 2 showed up in 2012 and X & Y launched last year.
The launch is a timely one and would capitalise on the strong sales of last year’s X & Y, which has already sold an impressive 12.26m units worldwide. It was Nintendo’s best-selling game last year.
The most recent Pokémon remake – Heart Gold and Soul Silver – went on to sell 12.72m copies on Nintendo DS.
