Activision confirms Destiny 2
The long rumoured title has been confirmed by developer Bungie via their Twitter. The announcement follows last week’s leaked promotion material, which suggested a September 8 release date. The leak also pointed to a PlayStation 4 lead beta, though none of these details have been confirmed. Full story MCV UK.
HTC partners with Warner Bros for Ready Player One film
Warner Bros. have been brought on to help develop the VR content which will accompany the Steven Spielberg lead film, releasing next year. The movie is an adaptation of the Ernest Cline book of the same name. The two parties have promised that “multiple” pieces of VR content will feature and will be available through HTC’s Viveport portal. It is worth noting that Viveport requires users to install additional software. The content will be available on “high-end PC based VR systems” (read Vive) and “mobile solutions.” Full story MCV UK.
Paul Eibeler joins Green Man Gaming
The former Take-Two Interactive CEO has joined the e-commerce technology firm in a board advisor role. During his time at Take-Two the company grew from $200 million to $1.5 billion. Eibeler said of the move, “I’m excited to be joining the Green Man Gaming team during an exciting period of growth and expansion in the business. Paul Sulyok and the team have successfully built strong relations with leading game publishers worldwide offering consumers a wide catalogue of multi-platform games. I hope to share my experiences and industry knowledge with the team to further build on this success.”
