Go on a lunar mission along with five teammates, in a collaborative on-site journey through a lunar craft, ending on the surface of the moon where you can experience the thrill of your first moonwalk. The experience was awarded for its ability to create a feeling of presence like no other, recognised as “a game beyond entertainment” at the Australian Game Developer Awards.
Opaque Space’s Mitchell Manganaro spoke of the collaboration, “We want to bring space to everyone, so we’re thrilled to be able to do that again at Scienceworks this summer with the first public deployment of Lunar Hub. People have found this complete immersion in the moon environment an emotionally moving experience, and it’s wonderful to see the inspiring effect it has.”
Available to the public for the first time, the 40-minute Lunar Hub experience will launch on December 1st alongside another lunar experience, Museum of the Moon, a 1:500,000 scale recreation of our lunar neighbour.
Jonathan Shearer, General Manager of Scienceworks spoke of his excitement surrounding the inclusion of another Earthlight experience at Scienceworks, “Earthlight: Lunar Hub is one small step for visitors, but one giant leap in the virtual reality arena. The graphics are so highly realistic, I felt like I really was walking on the moon. Visitors are going to be awe-struck by this experience,”
