PayPal gets its head in the game through an all-new partnership with Ubisoft, announced as the official payment platform partner of the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League and Majors.
The year-long partnership extends to November 2019, covering regions; North America, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America. That covers the recent Pro League Season 8 Finals in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will continue across Pro League Season 9 and 10 as well as the Six Invitational 2019, and the second edition of the Six Majors, taking place in (the European) summer 2019.
“We are honoured to welcome PayPal as a key partner for our Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League and Majors,” said Geoffroy Sardin, vice president sales & marketing Ubisoft EMEA. “This is a clear signal that the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six esports scene is constantly moving forward, attracting new partners who share our enthusiasm for esports. It will be great to see our partnership flourish in our upcoming events, including Rio de Janeiro, Montreal and events throughout 2019.”
With a staggering 40 million players, the Rainbow Six Pro Leagues and Majors are the go-to way of integrating with the massive community.
An undoubtedly difficult consumer group to reach, esports plays an essential role in engaging with these consumers, and it’s becoming clearer to see, as the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League hosted more than 8000 fans per day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this past weekend.
“PayPal is the ultimate upgrade companion for the Rainbow Six: Siege community, allowing players to checkout securely and conveniently so they can worry less and experience more,” said Adriana Bello, Head of Consumer Go To Market, PayPal. “As the top cited preferred way to pay for gaming content, in-game items and content creator subscriptions, we’re excited to collaborate with the Ubisoft team to provide the gaming community with great experiences, including exclusive community events and deals on the Ubisoft Store in the upcoming year.”
