Plantronics post 216% growth, maintain number one position in Australia

Plantronics continues to maintain its number one position in the gaming headset market in Australia, posting 216% year-to-date growth. This impressive figure is nearly double that of the gaming headset market locally, which is reported to have risen by 114% year-to-date.

In addition to outpacing the industry by 108%, it’s RIG gaming headsets have continued to dominate the Australian market over the past 6-months.

Continuing the momentum, Plantronics is set to launch their new RIG 500 PRO Series of gaming headsets across the country, bringing with it a number of impressive new features.

Peter Petrides addded, “We’re excited for the release of the RIG 500 PRO Series of gaming headsets in Australia. Fans of the RIG brand should expect an impressive number of firsts, including the first VR-focused headsets, Dolby Atmos activation and now, the RIG Game Audio Dial for Xbox One and PS4 wireless controllers.”

The RIG 500 PRO HX (Xbox One) and HS (PlayStation 4) are set to retail at $119 , with the multi-platform RIG 500 PRO HC to sit at $129. Additionally, optimised for PC, the RIG 500 PRO Gold, which comes with a gold metal headband and inline volume cable will carry the same $129 price tag. The RIG 500 PRO Esports Edition, which is specifically designed for the rigours of competition with a die-cast metal frame and headband sits as the flagship model will set you back $199.

The full series will be available from mid-August across EB Games, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman.
