Rockstar will begin to ramp up its public relations and marketing offensive for Grand Theft Auto V tomorrow with the release of the game’s first gameplay trailer.
It has been a quieter two months for what might be considered the year’s most-anticipated game. In absentia, Rockstar released a number of E3 screenshots, and Sony announced a PlayStation 3 bundle that would package a 500GB console with both the game, and a pair of Grand Theft Auto V branded headphones.
Prior to that, select local media were invited to preview the game in early May, shortly after the release of the “Michael. Franklin. Trevor” trailer.
Tomorrow’s trailer represents the first time the public will see in-game footage of Grand Theft Auto V. Until now, consumers have only been treated to in-engine and cinematic footage.
Grand Theft Auto V is coming in mid-September. Unsurprisingly, the publishing industry has given it a wide berth.
