Google has released its first Stadia platform product for sale across several regions, not including Australia and New Zealand. Introducing the Stadia Founders Edition, and new information on the groundbreaking service’s costs.
Introducing the Stadia Founder's Edition. A $300 value for just $129.
— Stadia (@GoogleStadia) June 6, 2019
The Stadia Founders Edition includes;
- Official Stadia Controller (Night Blue)
- Chromecast Ultra
- 3 Month Stadia Pro Subscription
- Destiny 2: The Collection
- Exclusive Stadia Name
- Stadia Buddy Pass
From the above inclusions, the Founders edition appears refined to create a strong initial userbase at launch. The combination of the Stadia Buddy Pass and co-op oriented title Destiny 2, Google looks to be creating brand champions that will introduce Stadia to their peers.
The Founders edition ships this November, and comes with a free three-month Stadia Pro Subscription. Only Pro subscribers will be able to access the platform this year, with a free (lower quality) version set to launch in 2020, making the founder’s edition one of the only ways to play the service this year.
Alongside the inclusion of Destiny 2 in the Founders Edition, Stadia will launch with a strong line-up of AAA releases, including; DOOM Eternal, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Baldur’s Gate 3, Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, and The Elder Scrolls Online.
