Tegan Jones has been announced as the new Editor of Gizmodo.
Jones has continued to carve a successful career since her entrance into the industry in 2013, climbing from humble beginnings as a young freelance games writer. Leveraging her experience working with major brands such as Darrell Lea Chocolates, and later, Allure Media, she is set to make this new role her own.
Jones has previously appeared in the MCV Women in Games List of 2016, and 2017.
Speaking with MCV Pacific, Jones said, “I’ve been reading Gizmodo since the early 2000s, so to become the Editor of the Australian branch is a dream come true.
When I quit a corporate gig seven years ago to try my hand at freelance writing, I never truly believed that I would be here. I feel like all of the years of uncertainty, crappy jobs, temptation to do something easier and constant hustling has paid off.
I absolutely adore Gizmodo. Going from Commercial Editor of all the Allure tech brands, to Deputy Editor and now Editor… I feel like its a part of my DNA.
I can’t wait to see where I can take the publication next under the Pedestrian Group. Watch this space.”
