Telltale Games has announced a majority studio closure, the result of a year marked by “insurmountable challenges.”
“It’s been an incredibly difficult year for Telltale as we worked to set the company on a new course. Unfortunately, we ran out of time trying to get there,” said Telltale CEO Pet Hawley.
“We released some of our best content this year and release a tremendous amount of positive feedback, but ultimately, that did not translate to sales. With a heavy heart, we watch our friends leave today to spread our brand of storytelling across the games industry,” he added.
Telltale Games will complete the rest of its obligations to its board and partners through a team of 25 employees working through the studio closure.
No information has yet to be released regarding upcoming telltale products, with news expected to release in the coming weeks.
