The younger cousin of the 3DS is arriving on Aussie and Kiwi shores on 12th October.
It’s a sleeker, slimmer and flatter version of its larger counterpart, which Nintendo says is designed to get it ‘to an accessible price point’.
That price point will be just AUD$149.95 or NZD$179.95, cheaper than some special edition games.
A 3DS XL by comparison is currently retailing for AUD$249.95 or NZD$349.95, so it’s certainly a console with a point of difference.
The new device is sans hinge, presented instead as a dual-screen flat tablet, and will play any 3DS games, includes the same backwards compatibility functionality – it basically does everything a 3DS can do minus the 3D aspect.
