Since it’s announcement earlier this year, WomANZ has developed into a community that strives to grow the networks of new content creators and empowers women to navigate the streaming landscape.
Anais ‘Naysy’ Riley created WomANZ, after witnessing first hand the challenges that female streamers encounter when entering the scene, and the demands placed on them to maintain and grow their online presence. Naysy tells The Influence;
“When starting out in my streaming career I was often uncertain on how to navigate certain situations. I really wanted to reach out to other women for advice but was unsure how to do so as I didn’t know them very well.”
Womanz has led me to amazing friends, beautiful support when I’m feeling down or have been attacked in stream.
I have never felt as safe in an online community as I do here. 💜

In just three short months since WomANZ was launched, the community has grown to a staggering 350 members from different backgrounds including esports and content creating. Facilitating the creation of new friendships and collaborations, planned and even moved outside of the Discord and Twitch space into IRL hangout sessions.
“I think an important part of the community is driving that women aren’t your competition, we’re stronger together and share very similar experiences which can form some really great friendships,” Riley confirms – addressing a problem in several communities and industries (not just gaming and streaming) where women feel they have to compete against each other, instead of empowering and uplifting each other.
WomANZ is a group of people that are genuinely supportive of other women! This is the first time that I’ve felt like people are interested in the work I’m doing, celebrates my successes and doesn’t make me feel like I’m in some sort of competition. 🥰❤️

Riley says that herself and the community have great ambitions for the future, but that these things take time. Although this hasn’t stopped progress in the meantime with a new WomANZ website in the works, and charity events to be announced in the near future;
“We’re currently planning our first charity event at the moment and excited to work together as a community to support a great charity.”
