Over 75 applications were submitted to the awards, whittled down to just eleven by a panel of entrepreneurs, industry experts, and top developers from across Southeast Asia. The panel offered a joint statement on the quality of the games this year;

“We were inspired by the massive improvement in production quality from what we’ve seen in years past, developers in Southeast Asia are producing games that are more than capable of competing on the world stage.”

The International Mobile Games Awards take place each year, made up by a global awards event, and three regional awards. The awards include IMGA Southeast Asia, IMGA Global, IMGA MENA, IMGA China,

Since its first event in 2004, the IMGAs have recognized some of the world’s most popular titles, such as Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans. See who sit’s alongside these legendary titles below;

Winners of IMGA special category prizes include:

  • Best Multiplayer Game: Billion Lords, Auer Media, Taiwan
  • Best Quickplay Game: Holy Ship, Altitude Games, Philippines
  • Excellence in Gameplay: Hamsterdam, Muse Games, Taiwan
  • Excellence in Storytelling: OPUS: Rocket of Whispers, SIGONO INC., Taiwan
  • Best Technical Achievement: Hamsterdam, Muse Games, Taiwan
  • Excellence in Visual Art and Design: Behind the Screen, 18Light Game Ltd, Taiwan
  • Best Upcoming Game: Gospel of Satan, Fla Game Studio, Taiwan
  • Excellence in Innovation: Qinoto, Katie Huang (Studio Flip), Taiwan
  • Excellence in Audio: Valz, Klappanome, Indonesia
  • People’s Choice Award: Dragon Project, GoGame, Vietnam
  • Jury’s Honorable Mention: Tales of Abbie, Marcin Majchrzak, Thailand
