An Audio Producer at Strange Band Audio by day, Jody has become a prolific speaker and ambassador for the industry since joining it in early 2017.
In those 18 or so months, highlights of Jody’s talks include; Panelist at GX Australia “Writing the Other”, speaker at NZGDC 2017 “An Introduction to the sonic palette”, panelist at PAX Aus 2017 “Top Five Weirdest Video Games”, speaker at Linux.Conf 2017 “Game Audio on a Zero Budget”, speaker at Play By Play 2018 “Game Audio and the Sonic Palette”, speaker at Girls In Games Sydney October 2017, ppanelist at Women In Game Dev October 2017 and speaker at Unity Developers Group November 2017. Additionally Jody was to speak at Freeplay 2018, presenting “Game Audio and the Sonic Palette”, but was unable to attend due to illness.
Flipping back to the 9 to 5 side of Jody’s short but blistering career, she first joined Insert Dragon Here as an Audio Lead on Princesses Vs Dragons. Jody would organise for this to be shown at Girls Make Games during MIGW 2017, GiGS, MELT Festival Gayming night Brisbane, Culture Up Late at the Australian Museum and Beer and Pixels Sydney.
Jody then worked on VR Spatial audio for AWAKE by StartVR, which was subsequently shown at SXSW 2018 and Cannes film festival 2018. She provided composition for Snake Time by Those Six Faces and Smack Dash by Nice Mojo Games.
Jody’s other credits include; Audio support for NSI Game Jams since January 2017 and Sound Design for Buy Somewhere and Equal Reality
