Melbourne based Shelley Lowe has been making her mark on the industry since 2011, where she began as a Gameplay Programmer at Drumleaf Inc on Star86.
Shelley continued in the role until 2014, where she moved to Scarlet City Studios as a Gameplay Programmer, working on The Aetherlight.
In February 2016, Shelley moved to her current role League of Geeks where she was appointed as a UI/UX Programmer on Armello. During this time, she also spoke at NZGDC16 about the UI on Armellos Inventory System.
Shelley has also held talks at events such as Code Like a Girl about the games industry, and what games development involves to non-games audiences.
During the past 12-months, Shelley was awarded the Film Victoria Women in Games Fellowship, which gave her the opportunity to do studio placement with a Disney/Lucasfilms Games studio based in San Jose to further her experience in UI/UX.
Shelley has also attended GDC with the Pixelles Ensemble through their GDC Scholarship. This is alongside her work releasing dozens of updates for Armello and helping get Armello released to mobile platforms.
Shelley has told MCV Pacific, “I’m so honoured to be included in this year’s list and in such amazing company too. There are so many incredible and hard-working women in the games industry, much love to everyone on and not on the list!”
